Exploring Concrete at Open Campus!

The Tohoku University Open Campus 2025 was held on 30–31 July! The Life Cycle Engineering Laboratory has been offering a mortar mixing and casting experience corner every year.

Many students and children took part in this year’s event. Thank you very much to everyone who visited! As a new initiative this year, we also set up a 3D concrete printer viewing area. We hope these experiences inspired more people to become interested in the world of concrete!

7月30～31日に東北大学のオープンキャンパスが開催されました！ライフサイクル工学研究室では、例年モルタルの練混ぜ・打込み体験コーナーを開催しています。

今年もたくさんの学生やお子様に参加していただきました。来ていただいた皆様、本当にありがとうございます！今年は新たな試みとして、3Dコンクリートプリンターの見学コーナーも実施しました。これらの体験を通じて、コンクリートについてもっと知りたい！と思ってもらえていれば嬉しいです。

Dr. Nishiwaki also took part in this year’s introductory lecture program, giving a talk on concrete to the Open Campus participants. The lecture was very well attended, with most of the seats filled. Perhaps some of the future LCEL members were in the audience.

また、西脇先生は今年の模擬講義に参加し、当日のOC参加者の皆様に向けてコンクリートに関する講義を行いました。こちらも席の大半が埋まるほどに盛況でした！未来のLCELメンバーも授業を受けていたのかもしれません。
